Another busy few weeks!

At the end of July, we played at one of our favourite venues,The George Inn. As usual, the crowd were very enthusiastic and didn't want us to stop. It's a great atmosphere and we're already looking forward to our next visit in October.

Last weekend we played at The Wessex Truck Fest at Yeovil Show Ground. Not one for the archives. The stage was tucked away at one end of the arena so our audience was basically people wandering past. Most stopped and listened to a couple of songs but the fact that it was raining didn't tempt them to stay too long. You win some and lose some.

This was made up for last night at The Railway in Westbury where we had a great night. We had a good audience with plenty of enthusiastic dancers. Ed stood in for Mike on drums and we showcased his young talent by playing Wipe Out which is brilliant for a drummer. The evening was a great success.

Time to catch up on what we've been up to.

Back in May we played at Paulton Football Club after The JMBRO Charity Bike Ride which Harry and I had the pleasure of riding in. Nice venue and those bikers that hadn't gone home to soak in the bath after a ride out across Salisbury Plain seemed to enjoy our set.

We played at a party in June at Chapmanslade Village Hall which was great, plenty of time to set up on the stage and get the sound just right. A very enthusiastic crowd so a good time was had by all.

Last saturday we did a set in Westbury Market Place for the summer music fetsival. It followed on nicely from England beating Sweden ...... anyway, everyone was in good spirits and nicely lubricated so we had a vocal crowd watching us which gives us more energy..

Back down to Portland in 2 weeks which is always something we look forward to

Oh dear, what happened to the last two months.

We've had three of our best venues since I last blogged.

All three of them are twice yearly bookings for us and we enjoy performing at them.

The Golden Fleece, as usual had a large and enthusiastic crowd, not much room for dancing but they like to join in vocally.

The George is small but the regulars do enjoy dancing which is lucky because if one person starts dancing the rest more or less have to.

Norton Social Club members take a bit longer to get going probably because they have to let their heart rates get back to normal after the excitement of bingo. Once the second set started they were up and swaying.

A new one for us next week. We'll be playing in the evening at Paulton Football Club after the JMBRO Charity ride out in the afternoon. With 400 bikers expected, it should make for a great gig

In mid january we went to a new venue for us.

A good size bar to play in so there was plenty of room for the enthusiastic dancers, both of them, which was lucky because they were very very enthusiastic!

There were a few others who sashayed on to the floor when these two guys stopped to raise their alcohol level even higher, especially one lady of advanced yearswho was still shaking her hips at the very end.

A good venuebut a few more in the audience would have been nice
